  • We lived here for nearly two years, and overall we enjoyed our time living there with a few exceptions. The office staff, management, and maintenance staff were always so wonderful. Repairs were made promptly and they worked with us when we really needed them after I was injured and we went to being a single family income. They didn't have to, but they did. For that, they were excellent! The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and a good place to have children in. The apartments are large in theory, although the bathroom and kitchen are small in comparison to size. I always felt there was room for a second bathroom, and it's a shame they don't have at least a half bath on the main level or basement. The pool is great! My kids loved it and so did we! I will say, I was always disheartened by the amount of parents not swimming with their kids and just laying out... but that's not against the complex. I will say, if you want to swim without it being full, go when it opens in the morning. I didn't like that there was a curfew for kids being in the pool. When we both worked, it made it difficult to go to the pool as a family since kids weren't allowed in the pool past 7. They did change it to 8, but still, I think that's silly. Seeing as most of he adults refused to even get in the pool and just use it as a communal area to drink beer at night. The negatives: The central air and heat are abhorrent. In the winters it was so difficult to heat the apartment, and the upstairs was ice cold! We had to use a space heater to warm it up for our kids. The furnace would never run and you'd have to go downstairs and use a wire to start it up. In the summers, it was always SO hot and impossible to cool. It would be set to 72 and it was 88 degrees inside. Just as in winter the upstairs would so hot you couldn't breathe in the summer. Poor ventilation and it's so humid inside the apartments that it makes everything worse. We also had issues with the Central AC popping the circuit breaker all the time. We also had a bad issue with severe moisture in the basement that caused mold, and the washer would always back up liquid in the basement floor... not only that but other neighbors flushed things they shouldn't and their sewage backed up into other people's apartments. This was disgusting to say the least. Overall, it was not a horrible experience or apartment. The price was right for us and given that Huber Ridge is a great elementary school, we stayed as long as we could. I would still recommend it as finding a neighborhood that you feel 100% safe in around Columbus is difficult to do. It's still a great area to raise children and the apartments are nice enough to be worth the annoying heating/cooling. I do wish they would get the basements fixed up and be able to ditch the subpumps and all, but that's probably a fairly expensive feat so it is what it is.
